Québec terroir products - the joy of taking them home!

Treat yourself at every opportunity, and promote the purchase of local and Québec products. According to a study done by the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation, if each consumer added $30 worth of Québec food products to their shopping basket each year, the sale of Québec food products would increase by more than $1 billion in 5 years! Thus, by encouraging our farmers, their processors and artisans, we can help put “Québec on the plate”!

There’s so much to take home… Berries, fruit jellies and spreads, pâtés, terrines, duck foie gras, wines, ice wines, cider, ice cider, artisan beers, mead, honey products, rosés and sparkling beverages, berry or maple liqueurs, apple brandy, maple products, products made from lamb, venison, emu and ostrich, cheeses, honey, oils, vinegars and vinaigrettes, jams, jellies, maple syrup, fresh vegetables, grain-fed poultry, smoked fish, breads and pastries, and more. In addition to these, some operators specialize in the production of organic products, and derivatives such as artisan soaps and cosmetic products.

Firm and semi-soft cheeses, fresh cheeses, soft cheese with a bloomy or washed rind, veined cheeses… Well-known types of cheeses such as Brie, Camembert, Cheddar, Gouda, Saint-Paulin, Swiss… Organic cheeses, raw milk cheeses… In short, tons of delicious fine cheeses are produced right here!

 

Fresh Québec strawberries - pick and eat them right up to October!

Using new techniques, more and more producers are finding it possible to extend the strawberry season by a good month. In addition, there are the juicy fall strawberries, which are picked in August, September and as late as mid-October. Look for strawberries that are bright red and glossy. If they are not glossy, then they were picked several days before.
