Mission of the Association de l’Agrotourisme et du Tourisme Gourmand du Québec
The mission of the Association de l’Agrotourisme et du Tourisme Gourmand du Québec (AATGQ) is to bring together and promote farmers and operators working in agritourism and food tourism, and at the same time, encourage the development and improvement in quality of businesses, as well as dialogue and networking. All its members are promoted under the Terroir et Saveurs banner of quality.
The AATGQ has been working for almost 40 years to develop agritourism and food tourism, by promoting enthusiastic ambassadors who want to give their customers a quality gourmet experience. After many years of working to develop regional and terroir products under the banners* Gîte du Passant (Bed & Breakfast), Auberge du Passant (Country Inn), Table Champêtre (Dining on a Farm), Table aux Saveurs du Terroir (Terroir Restaurant), Relais du Terroir (Farm Shop) and Ferme Découverte (Farm Exploration), there was a desire to create a single banner. The AATGQ has now grouped all these designations under a single banner: Terroir et Saveurs du Québec.
The AATGQ is not only very proud to have developed the network and the Terroir et Saveurs certification, but also to have contributed in a significant way to improving the quality of the offer, right across Québec. To this sense of pride can be added the recognition by Tourisme Québec for being the association for sector-based agritourism.*Gîte du Passant, Auberge du Passant, Table Champêtre, Table aux Saveurs du Terroir et Relais du Terroir are trademarks that only establishments certified Terroir et Saveurs have the right to use.
